Where do you work and what is your work position?
I am founder of Sample Solutions – a data-focused market research and insights company
Tell us a little bit about the business and what does the company does?
Sample Solutions provides research companies the opportunity to reach respondents for social research and market research surveys all over the globe. We are structured around the Big Data side, data processing, sales, marketing, and development. Pretty much the whole company is operating from Macedonia.
Why did you choose Macedonia?
Well, I wish I could they that this was a choice based on thorough research but in fact, I came here quite often during student times and enjoyed the nightlife, the food and most of all the people.
The English level is great plus plenty of secondary languages are spoken here. The other thing is that Skopje is really well-connected (shoutout to Wizz).
What was the greatest challenge when moving here?
Initially, I didn’t register here which meant I constantly had to count my days. Having some basic Macedonian knowledge also helps to deal with the taxi driver. Overall it was not more or less challenging than any other European city.
Name top 3 things that you like the most in Macedonia?
Nature: Get out of the cities, go to the not-so-obvious places and you will be surprised. Coming from the lowlands, having this nature around is great.
People – Macedonians would not describe themselves as that but they are most certainly one of the friendliest and most helpful people I know.
Off the radar – There are a lot of hidden gems in Macedonia for activities and sightseeing apart from the typical Ohrid and Skopje. Spend some time here and you will be amazed by the diversity the country offers.
